Artificial intelligence is appearing in hospitals, clinics, laboratories and health apps, and the headlines about it swing between miracle and menace. This course gives you a calm, practical overview. You will see where AI is actually used, such as supporting the reading of medical images, helping sort urgent cases, drafting clinical notes and speeding up research, and you will learn what each of these tools can and cannot do.
We also look at the questions that matter most: how patient information should be protected, how gaps in medical data can lead to unfair results, why a person must stay in charge of important decisions, and how rules and oversight work in principle. You will finish with a simple set of questions for reading any news story about medical AI critically. This course is educational only. It is not medical advice and does not replace a qualified doctor, nurse or other health professional.
